Network Marketing

Would you advise students to get involved in network marketing (e.g., Amway, Mary Kay, etc.) ?

  1. Network marketing is a very specialized and tactical implementation element in the business environment. Students should refrain initially from businesses that are at this execution level but rather enter fields that offer backgrounding and experience in a broader range of branding, concept development, product portfolio identification, and various options of channel distribution.
The companies that provide these experiences will provide a greater asset resume for future growth and changes in the personal business career.

  2. In my opinion these are not marketing disiplines they are methods of using networks to sell. So this is the misuse of the term marketing. If you are a great sales person these types of opportunities can be lucrative. But it is network selling.
